I finally had a week where I didn't have anything to do, so I could work on some crafts for my classroom! I still have a couple of more projects I want to complete, and then I'll work on some more practical stuff. (BOOOOOOO)
This is the Hall Pass sign that I made. I still have to put clothespins on it. I saw the original post here. I made cute little signs last year, and they were DISGUSTING by Christmas. So I liked the idea of just clipping a clothes pin to your shirt. If they happen to get nasty, which I'm sure will happen, I can just change out the clothespin. Simple problem solved.
The next thing I made was a sign to go outside my door. I also made one for my teamie, and a friend of mine who will be in her 1st year teaching this year. Mine was the guinea pig, so the letters are HUGE. I decided to use smaller letters on the other two, and it looks much better. So I will be changing mine. I'm waiting until I get something to use the big letters on though so they don't go to waste.
One more thing I am working on, but not finished yet, is a bookshelf/bench to go under the huge window in my class. I first saw the idea here. I loved it, but had my doubts about using the tall bookcases, because it would cover some of my window. And I love my window :) I went to our favorite place in the world, TARGET, and saw the bookcases that have cubes:
Except mine has six cubes so it sits lower to the floor. Anyways, they were on sale for $13, so I got three, and plan to make a bench to sit on top. Then I will house my library in baskets, and slip them into the cubes! I'm excited! I will post it as soon as I am finished!
Don't forget to join in my give-away! Original post can be found here. Next time I'll make a cute button to grab!
Also, hop on over to Delighted in Second and enter into her giveaway! She is giving away a $20 gift certificate to Teachers Pay Teachers!
